How to read this range

These figures are speculative estimates for general education. They are not a quote, offer, approval, recommendation, or guarantee. Actual pricing may be lower, higher, or zero.

  • Every bank and customer is different, and lender policies can change without notice.
  • Income, credit conduct, debts, property, LVR, loan structure, timing, bank appetite, competing offers, and wholesale funding costs all matter.
  • Banking relationships, salary crediting, KiwiSaver, cards, insurance, savings, fees, and cashback clawbacks can also change the result.
Confirm the exact rate, cashback, fees, and conditions in a written lender offer.
What moves the range

The written offer depends on the borrower and the bank.

The gauge starts with loan size, equity, and term. A full application can move the result up, down, or to zero.

Things that can help

Higher, stable, and well-evidenced income; stronger equity; clean credit conduct; low or well-managed debts; a standard property; a serviceable loan size; moving salary and everyday banking; and bringing useful products such as KiwiSaver, cards, insurance, or savings.

Things that can hold it back

Defaults, missed payments, high unsecured debt, large unused credit limits, unstable or hard-to-verify income, recent job changes, a complex property, high LVR, weak evidence, or a loan size outside the bank’s appetite.

Negotiation context

Competing written offers, lender appetite, loan structure, timing, current campaign rules, and whether the incentive has a clawback can all change the result.

Offer terms

Cash contributions are often conditional on keeping the loan and banking relationship for three or four years. The written offer and lender terms control.

Important: this is a speculative range only.

These figures are indicative estimates for general education. They are not a quote, offer, approval, promise, recommendation, or prediction of what any particular customer or bank will do. Each customer is different. Each bank uses its own pricing, credit, security, funding, and relationship policies, and those policies can change without notice.

The actual result may be lower, higher, or zero. It can change with income, employment, credit history, defaults, debts, expenses, equity, property type, valuation, loan structure, loan term, lender appetite, wholesale funding costs, competing offers, banking relationship, salary crediting, KiwiSaver, cards, insurance, savings, fees, clawback conditions, and the information supplied in a full application.
